How survival mentality has taken the church away from its core mandate!

The beauty of running a start-up is that you see the world through lenses that you ordinarily would not. One of our current struggle at LLA is where to hold our meetings! Each time we schedule a meeting and especially if it is for the wider group, my first headache is where we will hold the meeting. Our default meeting point has become church as many of our forums are on weekdays or on Saturday (and even this is never easy to get). As I have searched for a church that can host us, I have been heartbroken at how inaccessible the church has become (physically and otherwise). I will explain. (more…)

A journey of demystifying Prophetic Ministry (Part 2)

I am on a journey to demystify the prophetic ministry. I am loving these journey, learning from the Father and taking steps towards this being less mysterious. In part 1 I shared how I have in the recent past struggled with the prophetic ministry. I shared how this struggle was fed by the fear of human-dependence that I have seen this ministry breed. God led me to read the book of 1 Corinthians 14 and as I was studying these chapter, I came across this article that seemed to summarise my fears – almost from my head to the paper it was written on. A journey of demystifying Prophetic Ministry (Part 1)

I have come to realise the value of a clear mission and vision. An organisation that is crystal clear on why it exists, and then it applies razor-kind of focus to this mission, can go very far. I find lessons on this across the Word of God. The last instructions Christ gives to His disciples are meant to ensure that they have a very clear mission and vision: “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” The disciples were to do many things, but in the end those things were to add up to their one mission – Go and Make Disciples. (more…)
